We are a small family run pub in the West Bank area of Widnes. Nestling on the edge of the scenic River Mersey, we are just a stone's throw from some areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Spike Island is a local beauty spot and attracts people of all ages. There are numerous walks and trails to be found in the area and it is extremely popular with people who enjoy nature.
Our pub is in the heart of the local community. We offer a wide selection of beverages and home cooked food 7 days a week. We cover most of the televised sporting action in our lively bar area.
The Trans Pennine trail is right on our doorstep and is extremely popular with walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It is an exciting route which covers 215 miles, connecting Southport and Hornsea. The route is mapped and signed all the way, and is mainly traffic-free.
We have easy road access to local airports and are 7 miles from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and 26 miles from Manchester Airport.
We have good bus, road and train access to both Liverpool and Manchester.
We are close to all the attractions that Liverpool City Centre has to offer (approx 15 miles). Liverpool is an exciting and vibrant city with plenty of wonderful buildings, museums, shops, places to eat and nightlife.
Manchester is also a fabulous city to visit with plenty to offer for everyone, including theatres, football stadiums and Granada Studios (famous for the Coronation Street tour).
